MEET OUR ARTISTS
Bethanny is an adventurous designer, originally from Colorado but now living in the Ozark mountains. She graduated from John Brown University in 2019 and currently works as graphic designer for The Stable. Aside from art, Bethanny enjoys writing short stories, thrift shopping, and spending time outside. She even spent two summers working as a zip-line guide (and thus became surprisingly good at telling dad jokes). Her personal mission is to create beauty, live authentically, and love others with acceptance and grace.
How did you start making art that empowers people?
I have always known that I wanted a career in graphic design. However, upon achieving the career I’d been striving toward, I couldn’t help feeling like something was missing. Working as a designer is fulfilling in an artistic sense, but I also want my art to positively impact the people interacting with it. As someone who struggles with anxiety and perfectionism, I want to send an empowering message to those who share my experience.
What do you do to self-care?
I spend the majority of my workday staring at a screen, so for self-care I try to spend time outside. Nature is healing, and I love going on hikes and bike rides to explore new places. I’ve also found that hands-on hobbies are very relaxing, so I spend a lot of time painting or working on DIY projects for my home.
