Journal Prompts

Write a letter to your inner child.
What does your inner child need to hear?
(I forgive you..., thank you for..)

What was your favorite childhood toy/toys and why did you love them so much?

What was the most challenging
experience you had as a child?

Who did you look up to most
when you were younger?

What do you feel you were most
deprived from as a kid?

How would you reparent yourself?
(discipline, self-care, mindset)

What is something you would give
yourself right now to make yourself feel loved?

How do you reward yourself and
how do you self-sabotage?

What was your understanding of money, what did you learn about money from your parents? Do you believe you have a scarcity or abundance mindset?

What is something your inner child brings into your current life that no longer serves? - Thank and release little you from this task.

How does your inner child show up in your current life to protect you and does it serve?

What does your current relationship
with yourself look like?

What does your 'dream relationship'
with yourself look like?

What brings you balance?

What are some beliefs you have about yourself? Where/how did you learn this about yourself? Did someone teach you to believe this?

What does your inner critic sound like?
Where do you believe you are not good enough?

What has been your proudest moment?

What is the biggest challenge you had to overcome?

If you had to give your anxiety a name,
what would its name be?

How are you going to incorporate self love into your life? (podcast, influencer, positive messages around the house)

What is preventing you from growing?

Write down a list of what your ego/ inner critic says to you, write in detail about the mean beliefs you have about yourself. When you feel like you have written all of the harsh comments, throw it in the trash because those words are meant for the garbage not you!

If you had to take yourself on a date, where would you go? What would you do? What would you wear?

Draw a graph or pie chart in your journal as to how you spend your daily time (social media, fresh air, creative expression, cooking, engaging with others, etc). Once you have a visual, observe what you see.

Write a piece about your favourite time of day, why is it your favourite time of day? What does this tell you about yourself?

Write down your ideal self care practice! Share every little detail that would fill your internal cup! Then, create a date for yourself to honour this self care practice in some way.

What is a craft you want to do one day? Write it down and map it out– how, when, what materials needed to make this happen.

Create your "feeling myself" playlist, whatever that means to honor your true feelings, and vibrate these feelings out and around, whatever that means to you. Maybe you are doing this in a car, in the fresh air, from laying on your back, all is valid! Feel yourself through vibration.

Draw a place you would like to visit– this can be as detailed and imaginative as you would like!
(cotton candy clouds are totally valid)

Write down a time you remember feeling nervous in public. What advice would you objectively give yourself in this moment if you could?

Write a letter to the part of your body you don't usually send love to. What function does that body part provide you with? What is a nice comment you can say to that body part.

It is time to forgive yourself - for whatever "it" might be. You cannot change the past, but you can release your present self by warmly forgiving your past self.

Journal what your perception of "beauty" means. Reflect and maybe share this with a trusted friend. How can you incorporate a healthy perception of beauty into your life?

Write a letter to someone who has impacted your life. What would you want to say to them?

For this self reflection prompt, hydrate and go slow please. Bullet point what your inner critic has said that has hurt you. Hydrate some more, then write down the opposite of what your inner critic. You are separate from your inner critic!

Write down all that you have accomplished in the last 6 months (include small victories)

Where do you see yourself in 5 years? 10? 15?

Write a future biography of yourself!

If you had to plan the next 5 hours without using any screens what would you do?

What are you naturally good at?

What are your limiting beliefs
(e.g. "I could never..." "I am not enough for...")

What's your ideal morning routine?

What are your strengths?
What are areas that you are still working on?

Who do you consider to be your role model?

If you had a genie come to you and say, "I can grant you 3 wishes", what would your 3 wishes be? (You can't ask for more wishes)

Write a letter for your future self to read and put it away somewhere you won't lose it
(you can even make a time capsule and decorate it!)

If money didn't matter, what would you buy? Where would you live?

What are your top 5-10 goals you'd want to achieve in the next 5 years?

What are 3 short-term goals and 3 long-term goals? Why are these important to you?
