Okay, we're being a little dramatic โ€” but honestly? Four years of a national retail collaboration with one of the most iconic tissue brands in the world, on shelves at Target, reaching people we may never meet in some of their most human moments? We're going to let ourselves feel that for a second.

Because it didn't start here. It started much smaller than this.

Where It Began

When we first connected with Kleenex, we were a community-driven mental wellness brand with a big mission and a genuine belief that self-care messaging belonged everywhere โ€” not just in wellness spaces, not just for people who could afford retreats and journals and therapy. Everywhere. In people's hands. In their homes. In the quiet, ordinary moments of everyday life.

The idea of putting affirming messages on tissue boxes โ€” something people literally reach for when they cry, when they're sick, when they're sitting with something hard โ€” felt like the most natural alignment we'd ever been offered. This wasn't a brand deal. It was a values match.

So we said yes. And then we got to work.

Four Years of Showing Up

Every year of this collaboration has had its own heartbeat. Its own theme. Its own set of affirmations chosen specifically for what we felt the community needed most in that moment.

In our first year together, we were finding our footing as retail collaborators โ€” learning what it meant to translate a digital community's language onto a physical product that would sit on a shelf next to everything else competing for someone's attention. It was a lesson in how much a few words, in the right design, at the right moment, can stop someone in their tracks.

In year 2, we deepened the work. We learned more about who was picking up these boxes and why. We started hearing from people who kept the empty boxes on their desks. Who bought extras to give to friends going through hard things. Who sent us photos of their kids reading the messages. That feedback didn't just feel good โ€” it confirmed that this was doing exactly what we hoped it would do.

Year 3 brought with it everything we'd learned about our community and what they were actually navigating. The messages got more specific. The designs got more intentional. And the response told us that specificity was exactly right โ€” people don't want to be spoken to in generalities. They want to feel like someone wrote something directly for them.

And this year โ€” Year 4, Connection Makes Us Stronger โ€” felt like the natural culmination of everything that came before it. Because under every theme we've explored, every affirmation we've put on a box, every piece of content we've wrapped around this collaboration, the throughline has always been the same: you are not alone, and connection โ€” real, honest, imperfect connection โ€” is what gets us through.

Six boxes. Six messages. Each one for a different version of struggling, a different place someone might find themselves when they reach for a tissue and happen to read the words on the side.

What This Collaboration Has Meant to Us

Getting to put our mission on a product available at Target โ€” nationwide, accessible, affordable โ€” has meant that our message reached people who might never have found us online.
