Ensuring that our products and resources are financially accessible and resonate with our community has been our focus since launch. We started by sharing the work of talented, independent artists on Instagram. Their artwork allowed us to foster brave conversations and it became a no-brainer decision to invite talented members of our community to our online store. When an artist submits their work, they retain full exclusive rights, are credited wherever their product is listed or featured online, and receive royalties whenever a product carrying any of their designs is purchased. We wouldn't thrive without their contributions, so it became important for us to champion these independent artists spreading these messages with their beautiful work.
However, we knew it would feel wrong to propagate these reminders and conversations through our marketplace without directly contributing to the nonprofit organizations doing the heavy emotional work within their respective communities in order to help prevent the episodes of depression, anxiety, self-harm, and suicide. As a result, we have now donated over $55,000 to organizations doing the work on the ground to help save lives, such as the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline, who help prevent suicide through free, confidential, 24/7 support for anyone in distress (via 1-800-273-8255).
Not wanting to limit ourselves to supporting a single organization (no matter how wonderful), we have also partnered with organizations including NAMI, NEDA, Crisis Textline, The Trevor Project and AFSP for social media campaigns and product collaborations. We are committed to continue innovating, forming relationships, and using our creativity & collaborations to fight the battle against mental illness and suicide.
