Our Commitment To You

we lead with intention

Here at Self-Care Is For Everyone...

Here at Self-Care Is For Everyone, we treat every interaction as extremely meaningful and an opportunity to share positive energy and celebrate the exchange of kindness. Every person that inspires and supports our work, from employees and collaborators to members of our online community, means a great deal to us and represents a relationship worth preserving.

We aim to lead with high ethical standards, and would like to share how our clothes are made as well as our vision for growing in harmony with our community and collaborators.

our story

Self-Care Is For Everyone manifested from conversations...

Self-Care Is For Everyone manifested from conversations with family, friends, and community about mental health struggles that left us feeling stressed, hurt, and alone. In sharing our stories and experiences with one another, we identified a need for community healing, and asked ourselves what we can do to help facilitate this change.

3 key areas of focus emerged

With these intentions, we started @selfcareisforeveryone as a platform and community gathering space on Instagram where we share self-care tips and reminders, including artwork from a wide range of independent artists and insights from diverse therapists and healers. We now have an instagram community of over 900k+ supportive, engaging individuals! Our vision for the platform was simply creating a space to share kind messages and self-care reminders, while hosting brave and vulnerable conversations about different mental health struggles.

As we grew, we wanted to integrate ourselves into the community and go beyond these conversations, and on World Kindness Day 2018 we launched an online storefront (selfcareisforeveryone.com): our online marketplace for self-care reminders (clothings, bags, posters, etc) which doubles as an accessible, ever-growing hub for self-care tools and resources.

We embrace an equitable business model that has allowed us to work collaboratively alongside artists, nonprofits, and mental health advocates.

Each person who engages with our brand leaves feeling empowered knowing that they are supported and able to make a difference.

championing community

Ensuring that our products and resources are financially accessible...

Ensuring that our products and resources are financially accessible and resonate with our community has been our focus since launch. We started by sharing the work of talented, independent artists on Instagram. Their artwork allowed us to foster brave conversations and it became a no-brainer decision to invite talented members of our community to our online store. When an artist submits their work, they retain full exclusive rights, are credited wherever their product is listed or featured online, and receive royalties whenever a product carrying any of their designs is purchased. We wouldn't thrive without their contributions, so it became important for us to champion these independent artists spreading these messages with their beautiful work.

However, we knew it would feel wrong to propagate these reminders and conversations through our marketplace without directly contributing to the nonprofit organizations doing the heavy emotional work within their respective communities in order to help prevent the episodes of depression, anxiety, self-harm, and suicide. As a result, we have now donated over $55,000 to organizations doing the work on the ground to help save lives, such as the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline, who help prevent suicide through free, confidential, 24/7 support for anyone in distress (via 1-800-273-8255).

Not wanting to limit ourselves to supporting a single organization (no matter how wonderful), we have also partnered with organizations including NAMI, NEDA, Crisis Textline, The Trevor Project and AFSP for social media campaigns and product collaborations. We are committed to continue innovating, forming relationships, and using our creativity & collaborations to fight the battle against mental illness and suicide.

in-house production, a labor of love

A Labor Of Love.

As with any organization, there are many unsung heroes in ours that dedicate hours of love and labor into producing and shipping our self-care reminders, as well as managing our brand. Please note that whenever you order from us, your order may take a little longer to deliver than expected. We try our best to fulfill orders within 24 hours, but this can be impossible during periods of high demand because we print each item we sell in-house, on demand.

When you place your order, it is first printed onto paper which includes the rest of the orders from the same day. Then, it arrives at our picking station where our teammates match it to the appropriate blank garment in our inventory. Finally, a sticky note placed on top indicates the design that needs to be printed, as well as your order number.

From there, it makes its way to our print room team— where the magic happens. Thanks to direct-to-garment printing, we're able to print your purchased design onto the garment of your choice. Moving on, it gets dried by a heat press, folded & packed, and fulfilled by our shipping teammates before winding up on a USPS truck en route to you!

We do this every Monday through Friday from 8AM to 4PM at our production facility in Cherry Hill, NJ. We always aim to provide high-quality service because our interactions with our customers and supporters (and our reviews) have made us realize just how much these reminders mean to you and how much of an impact you're making wearing them!
